About Love My Cat Raw and Cooked Diet

Like most people, we know how finicky cats can be. We also know that addictive stuff is put into commercial cat foods and few of us have made the attempt to switch our cats to raw or have given up within a day or two because 'they didn't like it' or because of the seriously high prices in pet stores, as high as $10/lb for just chicken!

When my cat died a month ago after being diagnosed with Intestinal Lymphoma (cancer) I realized if what we were feeding them, what is supposed to sustain life, is killing them, I needed to take another shot at it.
We found 30 cats including my 3 and asked their owners to let their cats taste test our food both cooked and raw. Every single cat switched without much of a struggle, the longest within a week, the others within 3-4 days eating more each day. Some preferred raw, some cooked, some happily ate both.
We cheated using bacon fat or water to make the switch but the fastest and easiest turnover was with using our bone broth. Warming it up helped as well - just 3 seconds.
We have designed this food to be fed raw or cooked. As raw diet proponents for dogs, it was hard to accept 'cooked' right away but we saw the same results with the cooked food as we saw with the raw food in cats - Shinier coats, no dandruff, beautiful colours, tiny poops which had NO ODOUR! In fact, they did not poop every day as all the food is absorbed by the body - no fillers.
Why cooked? We found one of the biggest impediments to feeding raw to cats is they do not eat all their food at once and leaving raw out all day while you're at work was a problem. Cooked fixed that problem. It can be left out all day and overnight and as an added bonus did not turn brown and crusty like commercial food.
In our test cats we had one with Intestinal Lymphoma diarrhea, two with constant diarrhea due to viruses, and one with sporadic diarrhea. ALL of them stopped having the runs right away!
You can buy food from us designed as raw or designed to be cooked (you need to buy the bone and broth separately for the cookable food) and dare we say it, Precooked for your convenience.
Cooking takes 3-4 minutes in the microwave after defrosting and the powdered bone can be added after it cools and both cooked and raw can remain in the fridge for 4 days.
Why is Cat food so expensive?
Because it is 90% meat. It's that simple. It has less or no bone (until added), more organ meat and their supplements are different (other 10%), has no veggies or fillers AND it offers something commercial food does not offer - HEALTHY CATS with no vet bills, prevents arthritis, mitigates illnesses like diabetes and thyroid problems (contact us to book a consult for those issues if you like) and they don't clear a room when they poop.
The extra expense of raw/cooked diet for cats is also mitigated in that they only eat 1-3oz per meal so broken down, it's not that expensive at all.
We are happy to talk to you about switching to raw if you still have questions by email lovemydograwdiet.ca. The meat orders include info re buying ground bone powder and broth cubes.
